We are so grateful for all of the mentors that supported us and hope that you will share your artistic gifts and hearts with a new class of students in the future.

Other Ways To Get Involved
Can't mentor? There's lots of other ways to get involved! Maybe you are maybe you are great at fundraising or making fun events. You can also sponsor a mentee or donate materials.

Artist Mentors
Mentors lead groups of Mentees in their specific art mediums:

Acting/Film
-
Music (Drums, Piano, Guitar)

Creative Writing (Poetry, Short Stories)

Songwriting
-
Vocals
-
Photography
-
Dance
-
Visual Arts (Mixed Media, Drawing, Painting)
They use their gifts to help develop existing talents of the Mentees or teach them something for the first time. You do not have to be professionally trained, but must have experience with the art medium, as well as a passion for it. We are also looking to expand in film, and other genres of art. If you have experience in something else not listed please let us know.
Support Mentors
Not an artist? Become a Support Mentor. Support Mentors are there to assist the Mentors in interacting with the Mentees. You will learn the new artform along with the students. But the primary focus of the Support Mentor is to interact with the mentees. Your role as a Support Mentor is vital because, during our program, issues may come up that the Mentees need to process. The Support Mentor lends an ear while the Mentor can continue leading.
Non-Mentor Volunteers
Program Coordinator: Like an event planner, this person is at the helm of the ship, is organized and can guide a group of amazing artist to do great things with the participants we serve.
Production Assistant: This person helps the Program Coordinator accomplish all of the behind the scenes tasks that help the program run like a well oiled machine.
Photographer/Videographer: As a Photographer/Videographer for Awaken Arts you must have a keen eye and the ability to capture vulnerable moments without intruding. This position may be a one day or an ongoing commitment.
